Douglas Architects was hired by Texas Research & Technology Foundation (TRTF) to provide full design service for a 20,000 square foot shell/tenant finish of two existing warehouse structures located in their historic Houston street campus. Programming from the tenant, Scorpion Biological Services, consists of a state of the art analytical and tissue lab, process and development lab, nine prefab specialty labs, office and support space.
Scorpion Biological Services is an integrated contract research, and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on cell- and gene-based therapies and large molecule biologics. They currently provide a broad array of clinical-scale biomanufacturing, analytical and R&D services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies at their San Antonio, Texas facilities.
