St. Paul Square

Over the past several years, Douglas Architects has provided assessment and design services for Zachry, in and around the St. Paul Square area and the downtown.

DAI was asked to provide master-planning services for three large parcels located just north of VIA’s Robert Thompson Center, as well the air space above the transit center. Programming considerations included structured parking, hotel, residential, retail and office, as well as the circulation linkages around the site and surrounding locations that would be used by pedestrians, vehicular, bus, and rail. More specifically, Douglas Architects used ULI based urban planning principles and carefully studied the massing, building placement, and preliminary program requirements to maximize high-density development opportunities, while allowing for public spaces energized by 24/7 activity.
