Douglas Architects, Inc. was hired as Architect for the Renovation of the existing Hyatt Regency located on the Riverwalk. Working with Looney and Associates, Hardin Construction and AdventPDS, a construction management firm, Douglas Architects led a team of various consultants around the country throughout the design and construction on a very aggressive schedule.
The scope of work for this project included complete exterior renovation of the porte cochere, sidewalks, landscaping, exterior lighting and signage.
Interior scope included the demolition and then expansion of the existing bar, which quadrupled the seating and made the bar more visible and accessible, and the renovation of The Q Restaurant, a high end barbeque eatery, as well as the public lobby areas, Einstein Bros. coffee shop, public restrooms, River Walk fountain and lighting, boardrooms, elevator and escalators, pre-function areas, meeting rooms and ballrooms.
