The word Fiume, which, in English, means river, was also once a city in Italy known as a cultural melting pot in the height of its existence. Similarly, the San Antonio River is at the core of our dynamic and diverse city. The bustling, vibrant, and colorful sidewalks that pave its path are full of rich diversity and lend itself to the only brick oven pizzeria on the San Antonio River.
Located at the Hilton Palacio del Rio, Douglas Architects provided full design services for the adaptive reuse of this challenging limited footprint retail location on the Riverwalk. The design opens up the dining terrace and expands the seating area with new raised deck and landscaping. A large brick oven is the main focal point that anchors the south end of the terrace. The interior spaces contain textural rich tiles, brick, accent lighting and clean line trims that provides a fresh contemporary dining experience.
