Louisiana Delta Community College needed an upgrade to its existing campus in Ruston, Louisiana. After evaluating multiple alternate sites, it was determined that the new facility would be built on the existing campus. So the existing building was demolished and a new state-of-the-art facility was designed and constructed. The program consists of an industrial instrumentation area, computer lab, classrooms, lounges for staff and students, administration areas, labs, study areas, and a learning resource center. TBA incorporated neutral and blue exterior metal panels mixed with the college’s brick to provide a balanced contrast in the exterior design. The facility has a double-height lobby with a curtain wall facing north, allowing natural light into the area to create a grand entry for the students and faculty while also achieving an aesthetically pleasing view for people passing through Ruston, Louisiana. TBA also renovated another existing building, creating a new welding shop for the students. The front of the shop complements the main campus, while still defining its own unique appearance.
